AdvoKit Development
If you're waiting for version 2.0, dont!
Submitted by patdunlavey on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 09:00. AdvoKit Development"Any news on the 2.0 release? I looked at the mailing lists, but they seem to have petered out 8 months ago."
At some point I hope to pick up where I left off on the documentation, maybe work on a few bugs, and then report out a nominal version 2.0. However I don't personally envision working on Advokit beyond that. Both politics and technology have moved a fair distance from where they were in 2003 when Advokit was started.
Advokit development since 2004 has been almost entirely a solo effort, with no pay and little community feedback and support. However, if anyone wants to try their hand at designing and coding improvements to Advokit or even taking over the whole project, I will lend all the support I can!
If you're waiting for the official version 2.0 release to try out Advokit, don't! You should go ahead and download the current development version and start using it. No significant changes have been planned between now and the 2.0 release. When and if 2.0 is officially released, you should be able to simply update your existing installation using the installer.
smarty error when viewing stats under My Jobs
Submitted by gtremblay on Sat, 10/27/2007 - 18:52. AdvoKit DevelopmentI think this error may be related to removing a previous filter, and replacing it with a new filter (just a guess). a job was created to call voters in a particular precinct and a filter was applied. There are two things that appear to be errors in the screen that is displayed when one clicks on the particular job under My Jobs on the left side of the interface.
The first error is that under the Cumulative Voter Filter, 0 Voters is displayed, when in fact there should be hundreds of voters.
Statewide rollout successful - MINOR BUGS - help plz
Submitted by mkobzina on Sat, 10/27/2007 - 14:29. AdvoKit DevelopmentHello, I am working on a statewide rollout of Advokit. We are having one weird error. User accounts loose their privledges. The user account error states: Insufficient rights to view display 'AddUser'. Please login. I am one of the leaders / Co-Admin for our instance of Advokit. Does anyone know why this might be occuring?
Statewide Advokit?
Submitted by springmp on Sat, 07/14/2007 - 01:06. AdvoKit DevelopmentI've been reading many of the posts and the geographical areas seem quite small. Can we run one huge statewide Advokit site, or should we split our state up and run smaller sites?

On the move again - version 1.0 coming soon!
Submitted by patdunlavey on Tue, 03/28/2006 - 15:25. AdvoKit DevelopmentIt has been about a year and a half since the most recent "official" release of AdvoKit - 0.9.9 - was tagged and announced. Frankly, I had largely given up hope of seeing any further development. The original development team had largely disbanded and were pursuing other interests, myself included.
It this project still alive
Submitted by ktunstall on Sun, 03/26/2006 - 13:35. AdvoKit DevelopmentI am interested in using a program such as this, but it would appear that advances in php have not been recognized by the developers of this program. Do you intend on upgrading so that this program can be used with php5?
Any sign of life here?
Submitted by manicolaus on Tue, 12/20/2005 - 20:01. AdvoKit DevelopmentIs it fair to say that this application is dead? I see no recent posts on the forum and no further development on the user manual. I did download 0.9.9 but the installation did not go according to the manual and was unsuccessful. It looks like this is a dead end.
